Using words like “boycott” and “civil rights,” students in Gina Glynn’s third-grade class worked with their first-grade buddies from Joanna Besana’s class to create challenging word search puzzles in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The older students guided their buddies in selecting words related to Dr. King and the civil rights movement to hide in their own word searches. They then traded the completed puzzles with their peers to try and solve them.
Students also partnered with their buddies to read a number of books about Dr. King.
