Twelve Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School French students had an opportunity to practice what they have learned in the classroom during a trip to Québec from Feb. 13-16.
“The students enjoyed themselves and participated in many activities, including snowshoeing, dog sledding and tobogganing,” said French teacher Sally Barnes. “We visited three museums, toured the Carnaval games, and visited the famous Ice Hotel and Montmorency Falls.”
The trip also included a lumberjack meal and sampling of tire d’érable – maple taffy – at the Sugar Shack.
Despite the subzero weather, “It was a busy and fun four days,” said Barnes.
