Croton-Harmon residents know Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School’s kindergarten program is an exceptional one, and other districts are taking interest.“Our kindergarten program provides students with a strong foundation to start their educational journey,” said CET Principal Kelly Maloney.
The district often welcomes teachers and administrators from nearby schools looking to learn from CETs best practices and integrate them into their own lessons.
Most recently, one elementary school principal and three kindergarten teachers from Pearl River stopped by CET, where they observed a hands-on math lesson, student/teacher interactions and more.
“There is a strong emphasis on addressing the social and emotional needs of our students and providing them with the necessary skills to be independent learners,” said Maloney. “The positive classroom communities promote collaboration and foster a love of learning.”
